Shining, shimmering, splendid
Tell me, princess, now when did
You last let your heart decide? "

Once we arrive at our resort, it becomes crystal clear that we are in a whole new world. Staying on property at a Disney Resort creates a total immersion into Walt Disney World. Each resort is heavily themed to create another story experience to enjoy. We normally stay in Ft Wilderness in a cabin. They are absolutely beautiful and were suited our family at the time. This last year, we took our three year old granddaughter for the first time and decided she needed the 'royal' treatment. Where else but the Royal Rooms at Port Orleans Riverside would do for our little princess. It is a beautiful resort and we highly recommend it. This year we are going to try Port Orleans French Quarter. It is the smallest resort on property and quite lovely. These are all considered 'moderate' resorts. I've been hesitant to try value resorts because of the number of people that stay in the resorts in comparison with the number of busses to the parks, noise and crowds at the food court and pool. Deluxe resorts are lovely but expensive. Because we are in the parks for most of our visit it doesn't seem worth spending the extra. We have considered the Disney Vacation Club but haven't purchased at this point. For now, we'll continue with moderate resorts.
Things to consider when choosing a resort:
Number of people in the party
Amenities you want or need
Noise level
Number of rooms in the resort
Food court and restaurant
Pools
